What Does A Boil Advisory Mean?

Anytime we have to issue a boil advisory, it means that there is a chance that contaminants have entered the water system.  You will need to boil any water that will be consumed by eating, drinking, or food preparation.  You will boil the water for 60 seconds after it has come to a rolling boil.  If there is a flat taste, then shake in a clean container.

Procedures involed in lifting a boil advisory consist of:

1. Flushing the lines for 24 - 36 hours after water is restored

2. Collecting Samples to submit to DHH for testing

3. Awaiting the Test results from DHH (up to 72 hours) for permission to lift boil advisory.

YOU CAN BATHE, WASH CLOTHES AND DISHES DURING A BOIL ADVISORY!!
